Don't Give Up on Your Dream
Did you know that Walt Disney was once fired by a newspaper editor who told him he lacked imagination and had no good ideas?
Disney also experienced business failures and bankruptcy before he eventually built the Disney empire we know today. Even Disneyland, the dream that seemed impossible to many, was met with rejection and doubt before it became a reality.
Imagine if Walt Disney had believed the people who told him that his ideas weren't good enough. Imagine if he had taken failure as proof that he wasn't capable, or rejection as a sign that he should give up.
Sometimes a dream takes longer than we expect. Sometimes other people don't understand what we can see in our imagination. And sometimes we experience setbacks that make us question whether we should keep going.
But failure isn't always a sign that the dream is wrong. Sometimes it is simply part of finding a different way forward.
We can all have moments when we think, "Perhaps I'm being unrealistic. Perhaps I'm not good enough. Perhaps I should just give up."
Before you do, remember Walt Disney.
Your dream may need changing, refining or approaching from a different direction. But don't let someone else's lack of imagination become the reason you abandon your own.
Sometimes the thing that looks impossible today simply needs someone who is willing to keep believing in it.
